Sunset Beach Hotel   

The Sunset Beach Hotel (formerly known as Kotu Strand Village Hotel) is situated along the sandy Kotu Beach. This Three Star (+) hotel has undergone a complete renovation. The owners and the management team have left no stone unturned to ensure customer satisfaction an its utmost.

All rooms have (split) Air Conditioning units, IDD telephone system and Cable TV (ten channels including CNN, BBC TVS). There is also an outlet for the internet connection via an independed server in each room. The hotel is composed of 71 Standard Rooms, 10 Deluxe Rooms and 16 one Bedroom Suites or Apartment. This last category is furnished with small kitchenettes (very convenient for long staying guests).

Whilst strolling towards the beach of the hotel you can visit our colorful garden with an immense variety of tropical plants and flowers. Reaching that beach you will be surprised with indeed a breathtaking view (on clear days you can almost see Brasil…) As the name of the hotel already tells you, the sunsets are truly awesome; every minute of an evening, every evening of the week you can enjoy, stare and admire this splendid work of art, this creation of nature!

The east side of the hotel is adjacent to the wetlands and we can ensure that many exotic birds are waiting to sing for you a symphony of nature! If you are just an admirer or a true ornithologist do not forget your photographic equipment.

We have, for your catering pleasure, created Sunset Cafe and Sunset Bar & Grill.

The first one is our all-day fully air-conditioned dining room with 55 meters of windows overlooking the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, giving you the opportunity to, again, enjoy those truly memorable sunsets. In the Sunset Cafe we serve you a buffet breakfast, and a la carte luncheon and dinner. Three times a week we will entertain your gastronomic pallets with delightful buffets. There will be a variety of culinary themes such as: the Seafood Feast (needless to say that we get our fish directly from fishermen coming to our beach). African delight (specialties from not only The Gambia, but several West African countries, some dishes spicier than others…), the third buffet evening in the week we will keep a gastronomic surprise and countries such as Italy, Mexico and China will be part of our kitchen team's presentation.

The Sunset Bar & Grill is located by the beach, we could really say: on the beach! Here again you can admire the ocean view and you will be catered to by our Chief with the pleasantries of pizza's and burgers (etc.), but not just the ordinary ones. Just come and find out for yourself. Of course our bartenders will serve you the very popular cocktails and we will invite you to be "Tom Cruise" for a day and create your own "Cocktail". Don't worry, the bartender will prepare and serve it.

The newly constructed pool includes a safe children's pool. Relaxing by poolside in comfortable sun beds, you can watch your friends swimming; you can look at the ocean and dream, dream away.

The Sunset Beach Hotel is located near the Kotu Bengdula (gathering place in Mandinka) Craft Market. It is also within walking distance from the 18-hole Fajara Golf Course.
